Bhakta Nivas

When Srila Gour Govind Maharaja saw the building of Krishna Balaram temple almost complete and the deities installed, as desired by Srila Prabhupada, he realized that there was a shortage of accommodation for inmate devotees. He immediately made a number of asbestos sheds for temporary accommodation at the back side temple land which has been in Bhubaneswar temple possession for the last 30 years.
At present, on the land of over half an acre, we plan the construction of a building that will accommodate 200 devotees, minimum. For this, 45 rooms, 20ft x 12ft are required for brahmacaris. Added to this 10 rooms are required for residential sannyasis and visiting sannyasis.
Prasadam Hall
One of the main problems facing the temple during festivals is the lack of room for large numbers of people to take prasadam. A prasadam hall to accommodate two thousand persons at a time in is needed. Alongside this 2 storerooms are required for large quantities of groceries and vegetables. the necessary arrangement for kitchen rooms to meet the demand on a day-to-day basis as well as on special festive occasions is required. During times of power cuts in the city or locality a 64 K.V.A generator is required to be stationed in the Bhakta Nibas building with protective shed/noise reduction is required for its smooth running.
Over and above this, a parking area for vehicles, presently proposed to exist at the Bhakta Nibas areas our temple space is totally blocked by the National Highway-5expansion plans for a three-lane highway system aimed towards smooth traffic movement in front of the temple’s main gate.

Temple President, His Grace Dhruba Maharaj Das is researching this project.
