Designed to help you understand yourself in the world and lead a happy life.……… What is IYF? The International Society for Krishna Consciousness is an educational society. ISKCON Youth Forum (IYF) is the youth wing meant especially for educating the younger generation in Vedic culture and science. IYF is a forum for training today’s young girls and boys to become better human beings according to the principles established by Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu as propagated by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The aim of IYF is to inculcate purity of heart in the youth of today and progressive values of human life. The Need for IYF Although human society has made rapid progress in the fields of science, education, technology and economic development thereby increasing material happiness, there is a pinprick in the heart about today’s society. While young students are preparing for a bright future in the world there is an obvious parallel rent in the increasing use of drug and alcohol, promiscuous sexual behaviour, frustration about the future, depression resulting in increase in suicide throughout the world and a general moral decline. Such disparity in society is due to a lack vision coming from societies leaders who themselves lack principles. The immediate need is to teach young people that one can achieve peace and prosperity only through knowledge of the soul. Therefore IYF offers young people everywhere a pathway through which they can avoid the negative influences of materialistic life, uplift themselves spiritually and thereby society as a whole. Youth Forum Objectives 1. To establish a youth group of spiritually strong students who genuinely practice and represent the principles of sanatan-dharma (Krishna consciousness), and who act as beacons of light for guiding society along the spiritual path. 2. To train students in the philosophy of Krishna consciousness; in it universal application, especially to misguided youth; its profound depth of knowledge, coupled with logic and reason. 3. To train students in the art of preaching sanatan-dharma, as it comes in bonafide disciplic succession. 4. To develop personality and strength of character; to give positive meaning to their lives; to live a God-centered life of purity and dedication, learning to love and trust one another. 5. To identify ones talents and to dovetail those talents in the service of God. 6. To render the noble service of jnana-dana distribution. 7. To present Krishna conscious philosophy through the media and communication through books, notes, video/audio, overhead projections presentations, slideshow, drama, charts, pictures, magazines, internet and email services. 8. To teach young people that pure love of God (krsna-prema) is the goal of life, and that everyone, in his pure heart is an eternal servant of God. 9.
