Since 20 years the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna have being distributed all over the land of Orissa. At the moment 12 devotees are serving in Namahatta department.
Throughout the year a group of about eight devotees are going continuously for namahatta preaching. They have a jeep at their disposal carrying a tent, kitchen equipment, and books.

The devotees distribute the books, perform harinam sankirtan, hold discourses on sastra and distribute prasadam. Over 50 families are are actively engaged in namahatta.

Every year the padayatra begins on the holy appearance day of Srila Prabhupada, continuing since 1991. In Srila Gurudeva’s time the padayatra lasted for about 3 months. Srila Gurudeva gave utmost importance to this activity and was always pleased to see devotees serve in padayatra. Srila Gurudeva personally spent a lot of time on padayatra showering his mercy on the people of Orissa. Nowadays the padayatra lasts for about 40 days.
